Death Is Indeed Relative

My beloved Catechism teacher just passed away last Sunday. He was the epitome of total patience and gentleness. It was indeed a great loss for me and my other friends. In a grave mood, I wrote a simple poem to mark his immortality in our memory.

Nevertheless, I realised in an epiphany. My sorrow was erroneous. Why do I weep for a passing of a good man? I believe - through his death he is reborn to heaven. While on earth proximity marks boundaries. Now, he could be with us anytime, anywhere. On earth you were a strong person. Dear teacher Jan, lend us that strength.

Dear Teacher Januarius Beloved

In credence of faith,
In cadence of the silence,
I shall cradle a prayer.
Indeed flowers may wither and fray,
But you will stay,
A shining knight in my reminiscence.

We shall always have a special place in our hearts for you. Rest in peace.
